Travel Route

I am going to help a friend move his coach from Elkhart, IN to Tampa, FL. next week. I see there are two basic routes, the west one which is I-64, I-24, I-75 and then there is the eastern route which is mostly I-75.

Any words of wisdom on which is the better route or areas to avoid.

Out of Indianapolis, I 65 to I 24, to I 75 is the way I usually go.  I think it's a little faster.  You have one hill on I 24 that is a little steep but it really is no big deal.  Make sure your brakes are adjusted properly and you will be fine.  I don't really recall any hill of any significance on I 75 but my memory does fail me sometimes.  Either route will be fine.  It just depends on what cities you want to travel through.

I second the I-65 to I-24 to I-75 route.
You'll have of course INDY, Louisville, Nashville, Chattanooga and ATLANTA to deal with.
But in my opinion (which if you add $2 it'll get you a cup of coffee) it's better than going to Toledo, Dayton, Cincinnati, Lexington, Knoxville, Chattanooga and ATLANTA!
Either way you deal with Chattanooga and ATLANTA! Atlanta being the worst of all others in either route.

    I did part of that route this week (Tullahoma TN to Atlanta - in the four-wheeler).  Yeah, the big downhill past Suwannee will call for some attention but it's OK.  From about 40 miles north of ATL was a parking lot but I was going to Charlotte so I headed off x-country to join I-85 north).  It'll get you there and it's probably the best choice.

If you come down I-75 through KY at the TN line you begin to climb Jellico Mountain. Long and steep with a lot of trucks down to 30 or less. Then there are some steep downhill slopes. That is followed with several smaller up and downhills north of Knoxville.
