A series of parts (looking for)

Hello all,

As we continue to make forward progress on our engine rebuild, we've been checking out the health of the supporting cast of parts attached to said engine.

Several pieces need to be replaced, and we have been able to source most of them, but the following list is proving more challenging.

I tried to call Luke, but it appears they've headed out for the weekend by the time i called. I'll give him a call on Monday, but thought I'd post this here to see if anyone has a line on any of the below parts.

1) the power steering pump is shot. The vanes are worn and it should be replaced

2) the power steering piston up front needs to either be rebuilt or replaced. It has leaked for a long time and squealed on occasion. The shop removed and identified the problem as the ball valve actuator thing. It is worn and loose. In addition the piston itself has a small fluid leak around one of the gaskets. So we're trying to figure out where to source it if it should be replaced.

3) the radiator fan appears to be old and the plastic appears brittle. While it is fine now and only has minor chips in it, we decided replacing it is the right course of action, lest it come apart at a later time and launch itself into the new radiator

4) the motor mount bushing needs to be replaced. He's already replacing the two rectangle ones on the bottom, but there's a big rounded-square looking one with a round bushing on one of the corners.

If you have or know where I can get these parts, I'd really appreciate it.
I'll include some pics later of the pieces themselves.

Thanks,
George

if the pump body specs out, often new vanes are replaceable/solve the problem..

I had considered "rebuilding" the pump, but the shop made it sound like rebuilding it would be about as costly as just replacing it. I can talk to them again and see if there's more wrong with it.
I believe he said something else wasn't "quite right" :)

Would be a good time to change over to Sheppard full power steering instead of spending more money on the power assist system. That is if you can find a complete system.

Dave,
Thanks for the contact info. I'll give Sam and/or Ted a call, in addition to Luke in the morning.
Hopefully between them, I'll be able to get the parts I need :)

Clifford,
Thanks for your offer of the mounts. The metal part of the mount appears to be in pretty good shape. And honestly the bushing doesn't look all that bad. But the thought was while everything is out, that's probably cheap insurance in case it does start to deteriorate.
The (two) lower mounts are definitely in need of replacement, but I think the shop here has a source for those. I assume those mounts would came complete with the bushings?

Chessie,

I'd tossed around the idea of installing Sheppard steering. But ultimately decided that it would be treading down a pretty deep rabbit hole (I'm in a pretty deep hole as is, lol). I thought that I'd be able to replace the pump and piston for about a grand to $1500. As where a complete steering change would cost me twice that just in parts, let alone the install/mod cost. If my numbers are off, please let me know. If the costs are comparable or marginally more then I the Sheppard steering should definitely be back in the table.

Thanks again,
George

Some people on the forum have mentioned a good power steering guy in North Carolina but I've lost my note on that.  Would someone please repost his name and contact info?
