Dan,FWIW Bendix says you need to replace both on the steer axle when replacing a bad drum on the front.Drums are all over the chart in prices and don't worry about where one is made my new Webb drums were made in China it sucks.I purchased mine from Alliance a division of FreightLiner for 1/2 of MCI's price

Thanks, that's about $200USD, what kind of shipping cost? Do you need an account to purchase from MCI?

Shipping cost is included on purchases over $150 I think. I set up an account years ago with MCI. No problem for private individuals to have an account with them.

Thanks, I'll shop them some more.
I'm seeing several times conflicting info on the need for just a single replacement or always replace both when on the steer axle.
Coming from Bendix it may be to "sell" the product - but I always had high regard for the word Bendix...
When you say the words "it sucks" after the word China - I assume you were talking of the notion that Webb manufactures in China.
As far as your experience with your new Webb drums - are they OK?

They don't look as good as the Webb or Dura Drum made in the US the machine work is not as good on the drum surface what really concerns me is the balance weight is in the same spot on both drums that doesn't happen in the real word.

I have just replaced 1 drum before but I always had the other side turned to remove the glaze and heat spots if the drum was a keeper.
The Bendix instructor just told us replace both on the front axle even with the disc rotors and I see in shops it is a common practice.
