Shell will work, but it has 1% ash content, which is higher than Delvac 1240 or Delo 100, and it will not make Cliff happy.

believe this..not all oil blenders make their own additive package...they buy it.

to my knowledge there are only two oil labels making/selling same.

Guess who they are :)

It's CF and CF2 rated. And Cliff, I very much look up to your advice here. So don't discount it :)

Thanks Scott, the only thing I don't care for with the Shell Rotella it all it says about the oil is it "suitable" for older turbo charged and non turbo engines.

I never got into a 2 stroke engine that used only Rottela so good or bad I don't know, but it couldn't be any worse than the Delo 100

I see the 15/40 Amsoil has a CF-2 rating no way I have a 92 series in the shop now a guy bought into the synthetic hipe

I have used Shell Rotella 40 weight for 20 years in my coaches because I could buy it for about $300 a 55 Gal barrel from a oil dealer that was very close by (but is now gone), with no ill effects. But, with Cliff's good experience with Delvac 1240, I will get that when my barrels run out.

Yes, and the drums are mine to keep! It was a place within walking distance with a relocation sale.
