Need I worry about losing gallon of coolant?

My bus has mostly sat since last October.  I just added a full gallon of coolant.  Need I worry about having to add this much coolant?  My bus holds somewhere around 15 gallons of coolant I figure after removing some of the heating stuff.  (Series 60 engine)

The oil was just analyzed and no coolant detected in oil.  Do I just figure a little bit leaked over the winter from the silicone hoses and such?  The surge/expansion tank was not empty as I know from experience that the engine will shut down if empty.  I am not really worried about it.

I would not worry about  losing some coolant.  Over a winter's
cold temps,  you will get what's called a "cold leak"

I am not going to worry about it and deal with my other issues like fixing broken clearance lights.  I also found my oil filler cap wasn't put back on at the shop and is gone.  I doubt anything got into the oil.  I just put a bag over it for now.

I spent 45 minutes today removing rust from the latch for my engine door so it would close.  That was time I could have spent on other things.

After my repower I had to regularly add coolant.  I thought the same thing just  part of the spring service schedule.  I had to do it EVERY time I serviced the bus for a road trip.  The water pump finally gave up the ghost and I had to replace it.  I am sure it was the pump leaking while we were driving but not enough to notice until it was enough to notice.  Just something to keep in mind.  Last two trips I have not had to add any coolant BUT I did until I replaced the water pump.

PS of course I have an L10 Cummins and not a DD 60 series.
If it won't go FORCE it ---- if it breaks it needed to be replaced anyway

Just remember....it's not evaporating, it's leaking somewhere, unless an air pocket finally released. If you haven't run it before you took an oil sample, I'd crack the oil drain plug a couple of turns and see what drips out. Unless you took your sample via the drain plug. Any coolant or water will gravitate and settle to bottom part of oil pan over time.
