I am in Alberta, Canada and my reverse solenoid 12 volt finally gave up the ghost. My bus is a 1961 MCI MC-2. It has a 6V-71 Detroit Diesel Engine. Anyone have a used or new one, much appriciated.

Might be just the pull-in contact inside.  Assuming you only operate the reversing solenoid for the second needed to get it into gear, you can hard wire the solenoid pull-in coil. Just dont energise it for longer than a few seconds

The solenoid has 2 broken wires that go to the inside of the housing. the problem is that the housing is a sealed unit. I had taken it to our museum where they rebuild and rewire starters, alternators, generators etc. The gentlemen assured me it had done its time.
