You don't have to believe everything you think.

This one was for sale last spring and started a firestorm of discussion. I commented that the height was not legal in some states, and that it pushes too much air to be handy in a windstorm. Sean got defensive and abusive (because he owned one and put a lot of money into it), so I am not going to say anything this time.  :-X

Not wishing to start an argument, but I've never known Sean to be abusive. He is a bit "there's an error on the Internet and it's my job to correct it", but then he does have far more actual knowledge (rather than opinion and belief) than the vast majority of us on here

A shameless plug for my business - visit www.magazineexchange.co.uk for back issue magazines - thousands of titles covering cars, motorbikes, aircraft, railways, boats, modelling etc. You'll find lots of interest, although not much covering American buses sadly.

14 feet tall - legal or not, I wouldn't want the hassle or worry about clearance. Mine is 12 ft-2 inches tall & there are plenty tree limbs that I just barely fit under.

Then there is the engine - I wouldn't be happy with that power to weight ratio . . . .

So, I wouldn't be interested - nor would I look for something that tall. But that is just me.

YMMV

The VanHool TDX double decker buses in Vegas look tall and are kinda, but they are only13.1 high, I have a friend that just purchased a 2 story Vanhool from ABC to convert the price was right for a late model bus

Haha, yup. That is the one I posted a while ago. I keep drooling over the possibilities with all of that space... and the price keeps dropping. When they decide to give it away maybe I will swing by  ;D

Sean owned a Neoplan Spaceliner, which has a listed height of 12 feet.  The Neoplan buses manufactured for normal road use have a listed height of 13 ft 1 in. or less, depending on model and year.  This bus was obviously a custom job at 14 feet, and yes, illegal in some states.  If it was a shuttle bus I wonder what it's geared for - maybe not highway!

With all the German parts on the bus, and the fact they don't make that model anymore. Especially suspension parts-Since Sean camped out at L.A. Freightliner for 6 weeks waiting for suspension parts. Good Luck, TomC

Yeah it would be a real bad idea to try to convert something like this   Foreign made,  o parts, too tall, needs a different engine, geared wrong. Only an idiot would try something like that!

Yes, but apparently, it can be done successfully!  ;D
