Mini-split installation

I'll be curious to see how Sean's mini-split does near salt water. Dometic makes marine versions of their roof top and ducted units-but are very expensive (like 3 times what Sean paid). Good Luck, TomC

I fully expect all the steel bits on the outside unit to start rusting in short order. Starting with the fasteners. At some point after the galvanized ones start rusting, I will replace them all with stainless. The shroud is painted; I'll Ospho and touch-up as needed. The condenser itself is aluminum and should be fine. As you note, I can replace the outside unit several times before I get up to "marine rated" costs.
