A few summers ago it was 105 degrees F in Wisconsin. That summer we had only a single 13,500 BTU roof air. I kept it comfy inside running it 24/7 and hosing the outside fins down with water during the hottest part of the day. I just wedged the garden hose between the plastic grill opening in the shroud and let the water mist over the fins. Worked well enough to get us through. If you could come up with a mister like that, it might come in handy

$8000 is a reasonable price. In 1999, I paid $10000 for a used, reconditioned 17KVA Isuzu powered generator that I needed at home to back up the hydro power plant. Remember the world was going to end on Y2K, and generators were very hot and desirable. It has been a very good unit. Too bad it is too big to fit in my bus...

My  power tech is over 12 years old.  Never ever missed a beat. Powers two roof airs, with out any problems.
runs the microwave which is also over 12 years old.  Acording to my manual it uses .4 gallons of diesel / hour.

But when everything is in a 64 year old coach why put anything new in her.

Scott might have to hook my misting system up so I can spray my air conditioners when not pulling hills with Huggy.

Pulled the hill up 321 from lenoir to Blowing rock through all the construction stopping and starting.
only used 2 gallons of water.never over 200 degrees.

How many Kw from that Power Tech, Ned?  Sounds like a great setup.  How is the cooling set up on the gennie, external radiator or anything like that?  Thanks.  BH

Is either 8 or 10   I cannot remember which.

It is mounted in the old air conditioning bay of my 04  It has a home built quite box with a remote fan powered by electricity from the generator.

the exhaust is ran all the way to in front of the rear wheel and i can put a up stack on the end if needed.

I change the oil every few years whether it is needed or not.

only service ever.

I like it.  I work in Charlotte occasionally, Ned, we should get together sometime, darken some water and tell stories.  Best wishes,  BH

Yeah, that's near me but I'm often working weekends that time of year.

I have a Power tech 8000 that was in my bus when I bought it. It only had 250 hours on it. It is in it's own quiet box and can barley be heard when running. It will run both my roof airs, but if I want to use the microwave, I have to turn 1 of the ac units off.
