Hi Guys, I have one of the 4106 buses that has been shortened to 30 ft. It overheated on me 10 miles from home on the way back from the keys about a month ago. It shut off on me at the time and I had it towed home. It still runs but is smoking and is idling rough. It is in a place where i can work on it and I have the manuals. I am temped to take a head off. But I probably owe it to the bus (and my wallet) to get some real diagnostics first.
I am in St Petersburg FL. Is there anyone nearby that may be able to take a look and offer some friendly advice?

Thanks,
Jeff Anderson

Any idea why it overheated in the first place?
You don't have to believe everything you think.

The inspection covers are the little round covers with a bolt on them?

Beyond not hearing from this guy again, and why it overheated, why would someone shorten a 4106 in the first place?

Saw a 30 foot 4106 at the FMCA rally in Richmond, Va., several years ago. Don't know if it was that one. Did a double take when I saw it.

There are only 2 30 foot 4106's that I know of. This guys which is brown and white and a green one. The 3rd modified bus became a parts bus and was scrapped many years ago.

I have been attempting to contact this guy for years. He bought it from a seller in Battle Creek, MI and drove it home to Florida.
