Greetings,

I'm looking for advice on brakes (isn't everyone?)

I had some wheel seals leaking and they covered the rear pads in oil. After pulling apart, the bearings are bad as well. Sourcing parts from MCI, i'm around $3k without new drums. This includes bearings, retainer, wiper on 2nd axle. 2nd and 3rd axle brakes, pins, springs, seals, a few studs, but NO drums.

Is there an aftermarket source that I can get quotes from that will have all of these parts? Just don't want to spend too much.

Here is my list:

I just had my M/H repaired exactly like you need,,my coach sits on a Spartan chassis, very simular to yours  I had all wheel seals, axel seals and brake kits (called a stop box) in trucking circles, installed (no machining on the drums) including labor at a local heavy truck maint. shop at a total cost of $1230.00.>>>Dan. All the parts can be found after market except the studs ( MCI thinks those are made of gold) the MCI has Rockwell brakes. The problem is crossing MCI numbers over,Mohawk or Luke can do it and Mohawk is a lot cheaper than MCI and you can order with the MCI numbers.Brake jobs on a 3 axle bus can run 7000 to 8000 bucks like you if need DD-3's you can add another 1500 to 2500 to the parts, but how do put a price on stopping a bus ? ;D 1200 won't cover the rear axle for cost if a shop does it.I would call Mohawk ,Luke and Jefferson in OKC OK

I agree with Mohawk. Used them several times for parts sucessfully.

Thank you all so much, I'll call around Monday.

I was waiting for an email notification that someone had responded to the thread, I guess this forum doesn't do that:)

Thanks again!
