I have 3 Coleman Mach's that are now 15 years old and still going.  I'm sitting at a park in 103 heat right now with only one running d am quite comfortable.  Going down the road it takes all 3, but they do cycle on and off as needed unless I'm driving west into a 4pm sun.  Mine are ducted and I can dump most of my air in the cockpit which is the most difficult to cool.  When parked I damper the cockpit and dump it to the living area.  It has worked well for me.  I run a Wrico 13kw genny on the road.
