For those of you who don't know (which is probably everyone) I am a programmer/analyst specializing in GPS data collection, GIS and Oracle.
Occasionally I get general tech info on GPS issues like the link below. If you wish I can post them as a FYI.

Thanks

so my take is: use my gps, but keep a map book somewhere.  or keep the generator operational enough that we can relax in comfort until the flare subsides and we can find out which road to take next because the gps is operational again.

some of that info on  flares not expected or predicted is scary.  lots of whatif stuff.  but i think its great if you keep posting the info.

Maybe you could post a day or so ahead of the next flare so we can be ready  ;D

  Tom,

If I had a crystal ball that could accurately predict solar flares I think I would reprogram it for the stock market. There are higher end systems that include a DMI and Gyro so when the GPS is down the other 2 take over and your mapping will continue. One wouldn't want to impied travel down the road. :)

You have a really sweet setup a portable office/Bus RV all in one.

Since you are a Hughes man I'll ask (Do you think the other kids on the block are over selling their service?) I've been looking for my home and bus
but some seem to cheap(? about over selling band width) or out of my price range.
