DRIVE AXEL BRAKES

The coach is a MCI 102 A3
Have removed wheels, break drum, bearing hub and shoes.
A lot of play in the at brake shoe at the anchor pin, must be replaced.
The bearings/bushing for S cam shaft are all bad, lots of play in the system.

Plan
Cut a pipe the right length to fit over tapered brake pin to pull it out of the tapered hole with the nut that hold the shoes on.
Have no plan how to replace the S cam shaft bushing/bearings.
What would do and how to.

Hello, I rigged up a puller for removing the bushings.

Do you or a friend have a metal lathe?

I machined a rod with a shoulder that fit inside of the bushing.  The rod had a threaded hole in the end of it.  The largest diameter of the machined rod was smaller than the outside diameter of the bushings. I put the rod into the bushing, installed a threaded rod into the hole in the rod, and put large socket over the threaded rod on the far side of the bushing mount.  A nut and washer on the threaded rod pulled the machined rod toward the socket and pulled the bushings out.  I may have heated the bushing mount to make it easier to pull the  bushings.

I used the same machined rod to install the bushings.
