A famous Hollywood producer is looking for 3-5 1990s Model buses for a Mini Series he is working on in Los Angeles. This will take place over a few days in May. If you are interested, and can be in Los Angeles about the middle of May, please indicate what Year, Make, and Model bus you have and I will provide you more information soon. Right now, this is all we can say about this Event on this public Forum.

He also needs one bus with several bunk beds similar to a tour bus.

This could be you...

If you are interested, please also post a photo of your bus in this thread by going to the Additional Options at the bottom of this page and in the Attach field browse to a photo of your bus and upload it.

I wonder if the State of California will welcome nineties coaches that will be coming in for commercial purposes? I don't think my entertainer Eagle will pass the snap-idle test. I do not want to be just exactly like Robin Williams, he committed sucicide as a result of depression.

Not to worry, your license plate will be changed anyway once it is in their hands to the state they are "filming" the story about so nobody will even know why you are "visiting" here.

You also may be asked to drive your bus too in the movie too.  Hopefully you are a better driver than Robin was. :-)

Yes it is sorry to hear about Robin, as he was a great comedian and truly one of my favorites. He was much like Jonathan Winters.  They were both geniuses. Paul Poundstone is very similar as she can adapt to anything that happens on stage very quickly.

In the 23 years I've owned my bus, I've never had it safety checked or smog checked by the state. Good Luck, TomC

Scott, an MT shell is fine as they will be filming most buses going down the road in many scenes and being shot up by machines guns and going over a ledge in only one scene.   Only one bus will seal its fate in the Crusher Musher. But don't worry, they will have 6 buses to choose from so the odds of them picking yours are very slightly marginally slim and I have seen David Copperfield escape a crusher and he even had his arms and legs in chained in a locked trunk so you should be fine.  ;)

Jack H, most viewers will not have any idea what year your bus is as long as it "looks" like it is a 90s model bus.

Chessie, We don't have any bridges in Hollywood and there will be no "live" crash scenes, but who knows what the millions of viewers will see. This is Hollywood...remember? :o

TomC, I won't say anything to my neighbor who works for the Hwy Patrol about your bus for slightly phenomenal fee. :-)

And anyone reading the other comments, don't pay any attention to the man behind the curtains as he is exactly what he goes by, an Old Runt. He doesn't even own a "real" bus.  ;D

And as for Olrunt, if you can make your "1935 bus" look like a 1990's tour bus buy putting front and rear end caps on it, then you too can start running with the BIG dogs.  :D

If any of you can be in the Los Angeles area around the middle of next month (May) please contact Mike Ortiz at mikeortizbjj@sbcglobal.net as he is the guy who will be doing the bus scheduling. I suggest you send him one photo of the drivers side and another one of the passenger side outside of your bus along with the Year, Make and Model and if you can be available to either deliver your bus to the studio to leave of or be available to drive it yourself , if Mike is interested he will follow up with you for more info and tell you where to go. People tell me where to go all of the time, and after a while you get used to it.  ???

Just kidding to you all.  No buses will be damaged in any scenes as long as you are a good driver.  ::)

So they want them to look like seated coaches from the outside, not conversions, right?
You don't have to believe everything you think.

"Negatory Big Ben", they came to us to gather up a gaggle of bus conversions for their blockbuster movie.  Seated buses are a dime a dozen around the LA area from several tour companies so those are easy to come by.  However it is a bit difficult to come by several "real" bus conversions buses.

I sure hope they plan to at least reimburse the selected coach owners for fuel expenses, let alone for their valuable time and driving skills. There are companies that rent other kinds of props to film productions, why should valuable coaches be free?
