I have a 1974 Silver Eagle Conversion I purchased it about 6 months ago. It is called Salt Winds. Just curious if anyone has seen this around or know it's history. It needs an Update. But now I found a 1990 Silver Eagle and was woundering if this is a good model year to convert. I was told to stay away from the 89-90 Eagles. Does anyone have any input?
Thank you,

Welcome to our madness Toolman Harold!

I don't know much about Eagles, but I'm certain that someone on this board does.

 Welcome Harold!
All buses have issues. The Eagles tend to rust and the suspension can be extreamly expensive if it needs repair. NEVER buy a bus without having it checked by a qualified BUS mechanic. A few hundred befor could save you many thousands of dollars and heartaches later!

Thanks for the response. I purchased my 1974 Eagle with no knowledge of any bus. I have put about $10.000 in mechanical repairs it is finally coming around. I think of myself as fairly knowledgable now as I have a $10,000 hands on education. I will certainly check out this 90 Eagle before I give any money on it.

Hi Harold,

Welcome!

Lots of luck to you and your family with your Eagle.

Welcome Newbie, we have all been there.

They are all good, bad and ugly.

Welcome to the NUT HOUSE.

I haven't seen the Salt Winds but own a 73 Eagle.

The condition is more important than the year.

USE THE BUS.

Harold,

I also want to extend a welcome. We would like to learn a little more about your bus and what you have done to it. Also, what made you start looking for another after only six months with the one you have?

I have both coaches and the 89 is excellent in my opinion. The learning curve for the electronics is discouraging. Had I not had deep experience with heavy equiptment I could have spent a fortune learning. (Instead of nothing). The 89 also is better with rust. Its built with corten steel. (same as ocean containers). The cooling system on the 89 is a big upgrade. (no heating problems). The A/C is Thermo King, same as all those reefer units pulling frozen up and down the road. (Lots of parts and service to make over the road air cheap). Did I mention the Ross P/S? It won't go as fast as the old one though.

Well thank you for all the responses. I have yet to learn if I can respond to each one as I am new to this Blog. Here is some more info. I am from Upstate New York. I have a wife of 38 Years and 3 Married Daughters. I am a  Self Employed Cutting Tool Manufacturer, so if anyone needs a special tool for cutting metal I maybe able to help you out. This coach was Built By Millrock Coach. I do not know if they are still in Business. I found another 1990 Eagle for under $9,000 so I thought an upgrade of 16 years as my current coach is a 1974 would be a good idea. I have always wanted to build a coach from ground up. I hope I am not nuts as my current coach is quite nice other than some Rust and Mechanical Issues. All and any input weather positive or negative is more than welcome.
Thank you,
Toolman Harold
