Solenoid issues?

Greetings everyone! I had some fun today!! I had to move my bus from my old shop to a new location. Luckily I had no issues firing up the old girl in the cold, it was only -2c today in Winnipeg. When I arrived at my destination and went to back in to my parking spot, I found out the reverse solenoid did not work... My wife then found out that my Chevy Duramax could in fact pull my bus in the snow, with ease! LOL. We pulled it back far enough so I could drive into my space and then I found out the engine shut off solenoid also was not working... I opened the engine compartment and shut her down by manually activating the solenoid by hand. Has anyone ever had both solenoids fail at the same time? I'm thinking this is quite a coincidence and perhaps a voltage problem but i'm not sure. My bus is a 1963 MCI MC 3 with a 6V71 and a Spicer 4 speed, it's also a 12 volt system.
On a side note, my jake brake worked awesome and sounded even better coming out of the mufflers that so desperately need replacing.  ;D  Any comments would be greatly appreciated. All summer long I started her up once a week and moved it back and forth and in and out of the shop a few times with no issues. The drive today was a little on the wet and dirty side with slush and water on the road.   Thanks in advance, Greg

EVERYTHING starts giving trouble, the longer it sits.

In the cold x2.

Old lube, tired parts, lack of use, recipe for trouble.

The universal busnut creed: Regular monthly shake down runs, or spend more time screwing around working backwards.

That said, a bit of good quality spray lube and work those parts, with a bit of luck, they'll creak back into functioning.

Note, spray LUBE, not solvent laced, lube rinsing WD40 and friends, you have to pay to play....

happy coaching!
