Making our way back West now. In Beaumont this morning. Aiming for San Antonio tonight. Down to 2 gal of oil. Should get us home. Using about a gal every 1500-2000 miles. To be on safe side and to make me feel better, I would like to have 3 or 4 gal on hand. I have looked everywhere for it, and nobody has it. I called a Napa in S Antonio, they don't even know what I am talking about. I cannot find the part number that has been posted here a few times. We are planning on sticking to I 10 as far as Arizona, to stay below the winter weather. Thanks.

JC, quite a while back when I still owned the 4107, I found the oil in stock at O'Reilley's auto parts in the Dallas area.  You might want to check with them.

I-10 sounds good on paper to avoid winter weather. But beware of weather once you get into west Texas all the way to Tucson, AZ. Roads can freeze and get snow. This time of year, you could run SAE30 in a pinch. But CF-2 sae40 is the best. Around Houston you should be able to find the oil since you're close to the gulf there. Good luck, TomC

Hey JC, just picked up some from O'Reilley's La Grange Tx. last week and have to order it in everytime. I'm Just West of Houston about 100 miles off I10 North of Flatonia Tx. about 18 miles and if you can't find any local, holler, can meet up and will give you a case or 2. (3 gallons in there case). it's (Chevron Delo - Motor Oil, Part # 100-40-1) on there site. My La Grange Napa said they quit making it. False.

I stopped at Sun Coast on the East side of San Antonio off I 10 and got a case of Delo 400 SAE 40. Not familiar with it though: the jug says CF (not CF2), "for older Detroit diesel engines". $11.68/gal. Yea fuel is cheaper: below $2. I paid $1.94 yesterday in Mississippi.

Not sure about Q. We are in San Antonio for 2 nights for sightseeing. We'll see how it goes.
