Last month was big for BCM as we camped out for 10 days at the 63rd Annual California RV Show in Pomona, CA from October 9th through the 18th. We talked to a lot of bus owners about their experiences traveling in a bus conversion. We also talked to a lot more folks with Stick-N-Staple units about the advantages of owning a bus conversion rather than a conventional motorhome.  We convinced a lot of conventional RV owners to at least consider upgrading to a bus conversion for their next RV purchase.  Many of them bought subscriptions and/or purchased a batch of back issues to get started reading about bus conversions that night.

While we all know that planes are the safest way to fly, traveling in a bus is the safest and most comfortable method of travel on the road as these rigs are built to go 24/7/365.  Some coaches are only shut down for oil changes and other maintenance related issues so their uptime can exceed 95%.  These rigs are like race horses, they like to go. There are a ton of bus conversions out there with well over one million miles on them that their owners claim "They are just getting broken in".  Some folks are so passionate about owning a bus that they will start with a shell from a boneyard and rebuild it from the ground up; similar to what was done with my 1967 Eagle in 1996, with a frame-up restoration.  

Our next adventure, next weekend, will be to the Dam Rally at Lake Mead on November 13th, 14th, and 15th.  This is actually a NRG (Non-Rally Gathering) so it is a bit less formal than a "real" Rally with no meetings or agendas; you make your own reservations and come as early or stay as late as you wish. There are no rally fees and it will be very informal, just a bunch of Dam folks hanging around swapping lies about how fast their bus will go.  

This should be a fun rally overlooking Lake Mead only about 30 minutes from Las Vegas.  We don't expect it to be a big Dam rally, but a smaller group of serious Bus Nuts which is sometimes preferable over the larger rallies because it is easier to get to know everyone.  Not only that, but the smaller rallies tend to bring out the serious Bus Nuts, not the ones that take their rig out once or twice per year.  We hope you will join us at the Dam Rally for this great adventure.
