   HI;
     I just got two air bags from Lucas about two months ago for
     my MC-7.  They were about $80 each plus shipping.  You might
     also need the hardware for them, depending how much rust
     you have to deal with.  He will be glad to tell you all about what
     you will need.

General safety question regarding airbags.  Do they have a service or shelf life?  And how long would that be?  Safety first!  HB

Run them till they blow. Just kidding.

I have never heard of a recommended scheduled service for air bags. I just keep an eye on them. I replace one when it starts looking weathered and cracked. Whatever makes you feel good.

Henry,I could never get a direct answer from Stemco (GoodYear) the Prevost Service Center in Ca told me they don't sell one past 4 years old from the manufacturing date

They are made of rubber and the Ozone affects the bag I would think just like a tire I am not a happy camper with my EBay bargain NOS bags they are cracked bad

Just for what it is worth to you I would change all at once. I had a fully inflated bag blow one day while my wife was registering us at an rv park and it was so loud that people came running out of the building to see what the explosion was. My wife said it shook the whole building. Then being on a Friday afternoon I could not find any service center to come out and replace it. Finally found a local truck dealer on Monday and drove it there really slow and left it and replaced all 8. The one that blew was saved it looked all shreaded where it blew out.

I bought mine all from Luke for several reasons: 1) it will be the right part for your bus  2) He will include whatever should be in the assembly 3) His price will be very fair and 4) MOST IMPORTANT- He will continue to be a good resource FOR US as long as he stays in business---that's where we come in.

My 2 cents worth :)

Oh Gawd I hate being stupid!  All this time I had ASSUMED that we were talking about passenger restraint airbags.  Just now I realize that you all are talking about suspension airbags taking the place of leaf springs.  Augghhh!  Embarrassing indeed.  HB :)
