Where do I find the VIN #

Hello everyone.
I'm new here but my wife and I have been nuts over busses over our 23 year marriage. We subscribed to BCM in 1997- 98 and have kept all of them for future reference. Now we have finally purchased a 1965 Eagle, former entertainer coach. Not much left of the old interior, that's just the way we wanted it. I have a rare disorder and have been ill for a very long time now. I have had feeding tubes since Sept. 2003 and began to lose hope for a future, until my wife purchased this bus for my 49th B-day this month. She and my Mom got on a plane and flew to South Carolina to buy and drive the bus 3,000 miles to our home in Bonanza, Oregon. They put 2 new tires on the front, changed the fluids, and had a safety check before they hit the Interstate. They made it with very few issues other than Deb learning how to drive it and handle the brake system. She's already a pro and I haven't even driven it, yet! Okay now that you know a little bit about me, I have a question. Where do I locate the VIN # on the bus? Are all 1965 VIN's the same #, or is it as simple as it looks on the title?? Looking forward to messaging and eventually meeting some of you when we are able to hit the road. In advance, I thank you for your input!!

Yep 4 numbers in the engine compartment has a welded plate could be laying flat where the bar goes across from each side or on 1 of the upright tubing on the right side

The familiar 14 digit VIN numbers started in 1980, before that they were whatever the manufacturer decided they were.

Yes, including the World Manufacturers Identifier code. There was an international agreement setting the WMI in the later 1970's. Most US manufacturers adopted the new VIN format about 1980, although it didn't become formally mandatory until about 1983. There was a big revision to the US Standard (Part 565) in 2008.

Eagle use 5 numbers from 57 to 60 then 4 numbers from 60 to till late 74 then back to 5 numbers till mid 83 then came the 14 digits the, 17 digits came later around 86 or 87

As stated, it has 4 digits. Ours is 7443.
