BK,

I think I'm going to be forever sorry for not stopping on our trip through your country 'cause I could have learned lots from you.

It will be interesting to see the pictures.  Look forward to them.

Hey BK,

Now you be careful when you change their diaper's, with baby's that big you could get it all over yourself LOL.

Oh' we are hoping to get down and visit you when the weather breaks, and see those's new bouncing baby's of yours.

Bryce, congratulations.  They make cigars for "It's a Boy,"  "It's a Girl"  ---  do they make "It's a Bus"?

BK, all the best with the new "babys". Plenty of miles left in them I'm sure.
That 60 will go over a million miles with ease, but you know that already,LOL.
Glad to hear you guys are expanding and surviving in these tough times.
I wish you a $$$$$$ 2007 season.

Thanks everyone! So far we made it from Rexburg, ID to Montpelier, ID the first night (after loading spare parts, going over every inch of'm, fighting with the banks about the $ transfers and such we hit the road about 7;30 mtn-8:30 cntrl). Then we made it on to Cheyenne for fuel (we are getting 6.5 on the 8V and 7.7 on the 60!). Then we stopped in Sydney, NE for the night! Gonna head out for home here in a few! I bet we end up getting 1 more hotel (this trips been harder on dad than he'll admit!), I figure we'll make it down to somewhere out side of St. Louis for the night! Well gotta go get the oil checked and ready to pull out dad just got outta the shower! BK  ;D

Is 18 years old the norm for commercial carriers to buy busses?  I thought that was the age when they sold them to busnuts.

Since you ask, no it may not be the norm! But neither are we! We are small time, and just doing what it takes to survive as are many other operators running old equipment!
That said all 3 are newer than the '86 102A3 we also currently run, and I ain't afraid to send it anywhere at anytime!
Now for the rest of the story! For what we paid you could actually say we bought the '95 45' S217 for less than book value, and received the other 2 as freebies!
So what would you do? Take 'em home spend a little $ on them and let them make $$$$$$.$$ for you? Or would you just leave 'em parke only take the 45'er ? ? ?
From my personal experienes it's the older equipment that's paid for (but well maintained!) that makes the money! The nice new shiney high payment & insurance costing equipment is what makes you look like you got $, but really the bank & insurance companies are the only ones making it! JMHO! FWIW! I still see quite a few charter companies running 102A3s and C3s, but a lot are starting to shift to the D series.  I would think fuel economy and the 45' length are the big reasons to move up to the D series.

  Congratulations

If you get tired hauling #1 bus back home you can always drop it off here instead. :) I might even be persuaded
to clean out my 40X60 quanset so as not to get #1 wet.  :o

Sounds like a lot of road time but hopefully some fun along the way.
