I could have missed something in this thread but your batteries need to be below the start threshold. I know when I test automatic operation, I turn on a bunch of 12volt load and some inverter load and then come back a few hours later to see if the generator started.

In my case the controller is the Onan control panel and it monitors house battery voltage.

Fred is correct, my setup uses 12.2 volt as low limit, then the genset starts runs for 3 hours. Charges at 100 arms hen steps down 3 levels I think. Just bulging fern he post does not auto start unless it has a much different wiring.

My EPS generator has a a Smart Start it can be a stand alone auto start or inverter controlled which ever you choose right now it is through the inverter

I am the impatient one so I turned the inverters and the refer on and let it go until it kicked off but the genset did not start so guess I'll start casing wires down.

Hey Cliff I don't think his intention was looking for a wiring problem,  but rather just follow the wiring in hopes of finding a control box in order to identify what he has.

Luvrbus: Since there is not a way to program this on the EMS2800 contols,I am looking for a stand alone unit. Been Raining down here for a week so haven't had much of a chance to look.I do remember two very small wires that were hooked to one of the battery's .Got a feeling that this probably has something to do with what I am looking for.I saw those two wires when I had house battery's installed and wondered what they were for.

What brand of generator do you have I seen about every brand made in a CC some had Murphy controllers

It has a 17.5 Power Tech.A funny thing, some one asked me what kind of inverters it had and I said 458's .Then I was looking through the paper work and found the paper work for ems2800's .So I said they were not 458's but ems2800's all the while wondering where I had gotten the idea that they were 458's. Got to looking for the auto start thingy today .Opened the battery compartment and right on the inverters ,it say's 458.So now I don't know if they were changed or if a stray ems2800 poop sheet just got in with the literature .Anyway ,I still haven't located the auto start unit.

Totally possible that if the 2800's were swapped over to the 458's that the po decided not to incur the additional expense to include the autostart components. If you do eventually determine that you don't have the AGS, xantrex makes an AGS system for use with the 458.
