   That is going to be a hot space for batteries, rough ride, and susceptible to damage from blown tire.
Sure seems like a lot of work to do a center door. Passenger can still ride across form driver, but slightly back in normal door location. Most efficient use of space wit it the way it was designed. Be easier to start with city bus. The amount of steps to get to the high floor is going to dictate a lot of eaten space. Just say n....
