Oasis is about as close as you can get it's nothing special but they are a Good Sam's park and they jump the rates on the week ends.

We stay at Sam's Town and ride the free shuttle

Matt; are you planning to do the "Cowboy Christmas at Mandalay?

I vote for Sam's Town too.  The shuttle bus will get you to the old or new strip and a couple of the outlet malls.  As far as the rates go I think they all play that game.

The last thing I would ever want to do is hurt you.

Campgrounds are no different than hotels.  Why wouldn't you raise your rates on the busiest days of the week?

We have at Boulder, the spaces are small you probably would not like it,if you have a unit on both sides of you with slides it's tight

We have stayed at duck creek.  Nice park, pool and free coffee.  Good location if you have a car and are visiting.  Bad location if you need access to the strip.  No transportation provided.

I've stayed at Oasis, and will stay again-very nice. Since we come from L.A., it is one of the first RV parks you come to. Sam's Town is way on the other side of town. Just the extra driving (at 6mpg) is worth the savings to stay at Oasis. Good luck, TomC

Sam's Town for us. Especially if you can nab a spot that has a bit of shade. Probably not an issue for a December stay.
