I put a rear window in my bus that is an emergency escape. My rear side windows are not big enough. Everyone should have a rear escape plan.

I will keep my rear emergency window and my rear driver's-side emergency door for exiting from the bedroom, plus both my roof hatches are also emergency exits.   From any location inside my bus I want at least two possible exit routes.   I'm always surprised that so few RVs seem to have addressed this issue.   Yet another reason to have a real bus?

What's interesting is that the right front tire was where the fire started, not at the engine or fridge where so many RV fires start.   Did it blow out and then catch fire, or did it start burning from maybe a dragging brake and then blow out from the heat?   I'll be curious what the cause is determined to be.

Part of my prison bus design was an independent entry point on the LH rear for the rear guard station. They had their own little cubical with a small side entry and steps built in to the air filter compartment door. Many have asked if I was going to close off the door. NOT

All Silverside windows are hinged except the emergency door window.  Problem is, you gotta be skinny to get out of them.......NOT.

I left all the emergency hatches and windows working in my bedroom.  Great way to get on the roof, in any event.
