Hey Guy's: I've been around idiot lights so long that I have forgotten how to check analogue gauges.Someone please refresh my memory on how to check the remote temp gauge to see if I have a bad gauge or a bad sending unit.Seem's like I remember that if your temp gauge stopped working, you could take the lead off the sending unit and touch it to a ground ,if the sending unit was bad the gauge would go all the way to hot.If it was the gauge the needle would not move. All the other gauges (oil pressure and hour meter )wok as they should.

If it's an analogue gauge (not electronic) wouldn't the only test be a small pot of boiling water and put immerse the sender in it? If it's electronic, you could do the same I suppose.
