The bypass blower is a little different than the standard blower other than the valve most are high capacity not like the standard 80% blower

Mind you, when I had the engine turbo'd, Don pulled out the transmission and sent out to be overhauled. The entire job was right at $15k.
The big thing I learned from this, is to buy the bus you want with the power plant you want. I bought the transit since that was all I could afford at the time ($4,000). But, I have rebuilt virtually everything in the engine compartment, plus new air bags, and changed the air assist steering to full Sheppard hydraulic.

I think one of the best buses for conversion now is the D model MCI since it is available in both 40ft and 45ft and mostly came with Series 60 with 6spd Allisons. Good Luck, TomC

At your altitude and temps I would recommend using natural pistons if you build one from scratch.  Will start much easier.

I am with you Mark I never had problems with the 19:1 pistons and boost on a 8V92TA, ;D I do know they don't care for 23:1 I could not keep head bolts or compression seals on mine.

I thought if the 53 series could handle 25:1 it would be a cake walk for a 92 series with 23:1 pistons I missed the boat on that one for sure

Good to hear, Mike.  I thought those seats were extremely comfortable myself.  Those old 'hound drivers never had accidents from falling asleep at the wheel, the stock seats were so brutal that it would be impossible to fall asleep.

Here is another way to boost the power in your coach - upgrade coaches. . . .

Ebay # 391190693180 , currently less than $16,000 and it is ready to go with a 450 hp 8v92TA .

At 2 x the current bid, that is a whole lot of coach for the money.
