Drove the Neoplan up to a local park for the first toad (CR-V) tow. Got to the park and checked in and drove down to the camp sites and disconnected the toad. Backed into the site and the 748 would not shift out of reverse and the check transmission light was on.  The bus will only shut-down with the transmission in neutral, so I shut it down at the rear switches. I powered down the bus and repowered it and the transmission is now in neutral and I started it and checked the fluid which was are on full. But the check light is still on and I can't shift the transmission.
Any ideas on how to clear the problem? I had this happen once before when the speed senor wire got knocked off. I guess that is my next place to look but it shouldn't just fall off but I will check and check back here. Thanks.

The wire was in place.  Waited about 5 hours and the system apparently reset; the light comes on for a few seconds when you switch on and goes out. The transmission worked fine coming home.

I am glad it work out for him the 1st generation ATEC like the 700 series used could be a nightmare and no body wants to work on it.

They are sorta like a DDEC 1 engine you need to find a shop that even has the software for 1 anymore, then for the WTEC and CEC everyone has software for a little while longer at least
