I'm looking to purchase a GPS and with so many choices out there I was wondering if there were some models to stay away from. Looking for a unit with lifetime mapping, real time traffic, my speed and possibly a backup camera option.
Any suggestions? Garmin, TomTom, Magellan? Or some other brand?

Have a trip coming up in a few weeks to get bus number 2 back from Texas to Colorado

I recently got a Good Sam by Rand McNally. It has input for you rig's size length, width and height and is suppose to use that data in planning your route. It has a camera input, shows your speed and the speed limit and warns you when you have exceed the speed limit. It has a 7" screen, lifetime updates, traffic, weather, fuel prices and I am still learning. I have had Garmin and Magellan and they both have good points but so far I prefer the Good Sam for the bus.

I like the features! Thanks for the information. I will look that one up.

On my last trip I put my handheld Garmin 650 in the window using the trip computer feature and the Nuvi on the dash with the driving directions, etc. Between the 2 of them, I got the info I needed LOL. Still using a small LED TV screen for a backup camera. And before you ask, NOPE, I ain't making any recommendations LOL. Except that the 650 is an awesome handheld GPS  ;D

I am very cheap, but I sprung for a "remanufactured" Garmin Truck & RV model.  It was like $265 from Garmin, but I like the extra insurance that I won't be hitting any low underpasses.  You can have different profiles, so you can use it in the car also.  It seems to be MUCH MUCH easier to use than the one in the dash of my wife's 2013 Kia Soul.  I have been using Garmin for years, and like the simplicity.
