Anyone have a picture of Ed's stainless hinges for 4106 bay doors

Does anyone have a picture of Ed's stainless hinges for 4106 bay doors that they could post here?
Ed would like one showing what they look like closed.

How does the SS Hinge seal along the top?
I thought the OEM rubber hinge was the top seal on the bay doors?

it does not seal anything, but it lasts forever.

Your right Todd. They leak. I have them on my 4104 and wish I didn't. I haven't found a way to seal them up.

On my 4905 I have installed them on a couple of doors, but since mine are the pantograph type, the seals for my doors are glued to the upper outer edge of the door opening.  I bought mine out of necessity, after a very, very, very short disasterous bus trip where I was interuppted during my "pre-flight checklist"!

I am thinking that on the 4104, and Scenicruiser they may not be the best solution for keeping water out, but I may be wrong since I don't have either.

I have a friend that made his own and a few sets for others he just bought hinges in 10 ft lengths then had a sheet metal shop roll the edges to match the rubber hinges, they leak also

I replaced all my hinges with Oem less than 2 yrs already all dry rotted grrrrrrr  where do u get good rubber hinges?

A strip of the appropriate self adhesive weatherstrip inside behind the hinge will slow down the water infiltration.

The rubber hinge is the best to keep water out & if you are replacing them every 2 years, they should be easy to remove. 

The stainless hinges won't work on the Scenicruiser due to the way the top closes against the bottom door.

I have been looking into replacing mine with piano hinge. When I bought it 15 years ago one of them had already been replaced with an aluminum one. This is the only hinge that has been trouble free. I do not think stainless is needed. The way mine was installed was to drill out the rivets holding the hinge tracks and put the hinge flanges in place of them, then re-rivet it.

We have Ed's stainless hinges on several doors on the 5a.  We have not had any noticeable problem with water leakage; being in a desert may be helping.  I had thought that if I did have a problem, I would create some sort of drip flap over the hinge.  I haven't worked out the details, but I don't think it would be difficult.

We installed them on our 4107.  There is a little track around the door that we installed a 1/4 inch wide seal into and the doors did not leak.  The seal came from Napa in rolls and has a glue tape on one side.

I had changed   my rubber hinges once but they only lasted a year. Next time I used 1 1/2" X 1 1/2" X 5 ft piano type steel hinges with a brass hinge pin. I removed the old aluminum hinge part that the rubber fit into on the door and replaced that with a 90 deg.bent piece of stainless. This was rivetted to door , same holes as removed aluminum hinge.  Before rivetting angle  to door a strip of flexible PVC was installed. This provides water seal. ( the pvc is left over from trench linner in water treatment plant-- strong, flexible , heat and chemical resistant--already had this- ) Because of the moulding above my door, the hinge center had to stick out past that. The second half of hinge is rivetted to ceiling of bay along with other half of PVC strip. The job took a bit of time to get all the pieces to line up so the door fit decent when done. This happened over five years ago  and to date the doors are still in place and no leaks. I am sure the pictures will help explain things much better than I have done. I am happy the way the hinges have lasted.
