Started my bus first time this year. No air. Removed governor, and zero air coming from compressor. Thinking the coupler would be bad, I removed compressor. Coupler is fine. So I'm curious, how hard should it be to turn over a good compressor by hand? Any sources for a decent buy on a reman?

Take it back to Sonnie he should cover it under warranty  ;D they turn fairly easy by hand

Literally, lol Cliff. Damn, you have one hell of a memory. I tell the story of you three guys rescuing our trip, many times. I was certainly thinking of that while pulling the compressor. :-) I was hoping the fact it turned rather easy would be a sure sign the compressor was shot. Not sure what to do next; wish it wasn't so far to Sonny's and Mike's.

At the end of the above post I took pictures of the two valves inside my compressor that only needed to be cleaned and got mine working as good as new LOL.

Might give it a try.

It's probably time for a rebuilt compressor, spoke with Sonnie last week he sold his house closes on the 15th now him and Little Bit (dog) are going to live in the bus no telling where they may pop up

Congrats to Sonnie. Tell him if he gets up north, dinner and drinks are on me. I'd sure like a ride in that rocket of his. Yeah, my compressor has had a knock in it for a few years, so I guess your right. Time to replace. Thanks.

John, thanks for the link to your photos. I'm afraid my issues might be more serious than that. After idling for 10 minutes, only 3 lbs. Funny, cuz it worked ok (other than off and on knock) when I parked it.j

Good luck mine did about the same thing it would not build air so I started taking things apart and found these valves. I cleaned things up and I was able to build air better than before. I kind of thought I would be looking for a pump also and thought I wasn't out much to try.
