Amazing how fast things can change. Work these past few years has really been tough to keep up with, let alone do anything around the house. A short time ago, we saw a friends Newell classic - WOW. We were hooked. We went looking for one when we got home.

Be careful what you go looking for, you just might find it!

Now to liquidate all the stuff I collected for the Scenicruiser so we can enjoy my (new to us) Newell

I'm looking forward to selling the parts actually. Will be good to help fix up a few ole 'Cruisers, so we'll see who needs what. . .

This rig runs way better than it looks.

It drives so well that it is easy to forget it is so big. Plenty of power, kept a big grin on my face the whole ride home!  
The 8V92 didn't seem to use any oil on the 1000 mile trip home & it was easier on fuel than I expected, especially since we kept it in the left lane.  

Still learning what all the features are & gonna have to sort out a few little things that aren't working properly.
The CRT tvs will have to be replaced with flat screens as soon as possible - that way we will have a distraction from the salmon / rose colors in the decor

Newells have a huge reputation for chassis and build quality, they are built like a bus.  Good choice in my opinion.  Have fun with it now rather than when you are about dead!

Good for you! Life is too short to convert a bus. Sorry I converted one bus, and I will never do that again. It takes WAY too much time.

You will have a blast with your rig. Use it a lot!

some misc interior trim - window release bars, vertical a/c ducts under the windows
Original 3 piece rear window (1/2" thick)
some side glass & frames
several drivers window glass
several used upper windshields, but no tear drop glass
original driver seat & pedestal
used front bumper & mount brackets
original rear axle assy
original front axle assy
rear axle cradle (goes between axle & air bags)
fan drive gear box
fan blade
a/c compressor drive transmission

RJ, The fleet in the field, aka "the orphanage" was disbanded years ago due to vandalism & idiots in the county zoning office.
One I gave away, & the seated one was sold to someone in Texas who never paid for a bunch of the parts he got from me. (from what I hear, I ain't the only one he cheated.) One was parted & scrapped & one was in my driveway & now gone.

Kyle, glade you now have a big toy to drive.  That will still pull the Airstream, you would't know it was there.  If I were ever to have anything other than a bus it would be a Newell.

I second the nice when it comes to NEWELL. I know the RV market is what it is and one can't argue with the free market as a whole because it works so what I'm about to say while academic, we can still question it. That is, why at least one of the RV builders can't build an RV patterned after NEWELL but in a smaller package? In other words, why not an RV built on let's say the FORD or FREIGHLINER class A chassis but the body built like a tank. I bet if someone did that and market it's longer lasting quality they would have something. Sort of bridging the gap between a NEWELL and and entry level class A type.

the Newell is built as a monocoque chassis just like an MCI, as I have seen them, that means the body and the chassis are totally one structure.  That lack of a separate chassis is what makes them as strong and tough as they are, that plus the fully commercial build quality and parts.

Way to go Kyle!  I think you will be very happy with the Newell. They have a fine reputation for quality fit and finish.
