Does anybody in Minnesota use a steel RV carport to cover their bus?  I would like to find someone local to Minnesota who sell them.  I'm getting sick of dealing with cloth type covers for my bus.  I would rather save the money for an eventual garage for my RV, but I don't know if I can wait any longer.

Your big obvious in snow loading (mine is hurricane winds); a carport big enough to cover a bus is going to have to carry a lot of square feet of snow.  If you can find something rated, go for it, but it a snow load rating is anything like a wind rating, it's not going to be cheap.  But it's probably worth it.

I am hoping to find a local provider of carports to get a price from them.  It appears that prices might be around $3500 for the proper snow load rating.  If I search online I can't find anyone who is actually based in Minnesota.  Part of the reason is probably because I don't see many steel carports locally.  I see a lot more of them when I travel to the Southeast part of the USA.

I wish I could find a way to build something that could later be converted to a regular garage.  I think a pole barn with no sides would be ideal for this, but the city only allows pole construction on over 5 acres and I don't have that much land.

These could be an option and you can add to the length easily as time money and space allows.

I'm not sure what you mean by these.  I can't convert a steel carport to a garage.  An actual garage needs to match the house in both siding and roofing material.  I haven't checked with the city yet to see if I can even have a metal carport.

I did preliminary pricing for one for my bus 12' high sides 15' in the center 46' long installed is around $6000.00.

talk to the zoning board and see if you can't get a variance  for a pole barn.
A lot of times they will do this on an individual case.
Once you get a variance have a pole barn the size your garage will be built.

Also I suggest you go ahead and re-roof the house with metal roofing as it will be a better match for todays pole barns and snow slides off smooth metal roofs better than shingles.
