Fantastic fans installation in bus roof access holes...

Hey all,

Since we will have sliders now on both sides of the bus allowing us to escape in an accident and also due to the fact that a big part of the reason MCI put escape hatches on the roof is they were trying to get 50 plus passengers off as quickly as possible I am thinking the easiest route to mount two fantastic fans would be to use/modify the existing hatch locations.

Has anybody already done this? I'm seriously considering removing the handle from the escape hatches leaving the hatches actually in the whole permanently and cutting out the center of the hatches to mount the fans.

Thoughts?

i have installed a few FF's as long there is a flat spot and the the thickness is adequate to sandwhich the inside trim.
On my eagle I had to reduce the "thickness" of the inside trim piece.
I believe that the thickness of the FF unit is designed to fit a 2 inch thick opening.
If the hatch is 1/2 inch it will require a bit of modification to the attachment.
Clear as mud ?  ;D

Eagle,

Makes perfect sense to me...

Just a note, I ordered 2 fantastic fans (item# 7284) with thermostats from camping world this morning they are having an internet sale and they were $160 each. That's a great price if you've ever thought of buying one.

My three fantastic fans are installed through the roof itself, which is pretty easy to do.  My thinking on using the escape hatch is how to maintain or remediate the rubber seal if you install things so the hatch can no longer be opened?
