Don -

PD4104-287 was delivered new as fleet number G-7212 in July of 1953 to Great Lakes Greyhound Lines, HQ'd in Detroit, MI.

Most likely it was sold to a second-tier operator after the summer season and Labor Day weekend in the fall of 1963 or possibly 1964.

Rust Belt Car, there will be corrosion here and there. . .

But you can truthfully tell folk you've got a "Jen-U-Wine Retired Greyhound!"

Just curious. Was it the one that sat on I-35 by the superior offramp. Raymond

Thank You RJ I thought it was from the midwest or eastern states. there is rust on all the steel, but all aluminum looks good. It runs and drives, but throttle cable is very sticky.

Bruce, I really don't know what I am going to do with it yet. It would  need to be gutted and redone. Are you going to rebuild your garage-barn this summer yet?

Ray, the bus you are thinking of is still there. I don't know if you remember, a few years ago, we had chatted on the phone, when I was going into Texas roadhouse, you were just leaving in the 4104.

I remember that. Hope we can talk again. Will be down for the opener at Superior speedway on memorial long weekend. Where the 4104 originally sat there was a Silversides beside it. Wonder what ever happened to it?

We are in the middle of the barn rebuild now. Just pouring a new slab, builder starts in about 2 weeks.  Trying to get the house on the market this summer so we can get up to Maine where I will have a bus barn!!!

Good luck with the new project!

LOL!!!
You guys!! I can hardly wait to hear the story behind it....gave me a laugh for the night when John asked me if I saw that!  :o

pd4501-771

Rust belt....I'm insulted. We like to refer to this lovely area or the good ol USA as the patina belt! LOL

I figure the way it is going, soon Illinois won't be able to afford road salt anymore. Heck they can't afford it or anything else now, but they still spend anyway!

If you know of the whereabouts of a PD4501 Scenicruiser - I would like to add the serial number to my registry of surviving Scenics.  www.tomsgarageonline.com
