Timing marks on L-671 2 valve

Can anyone help me decipher the timing marks on my L-671  2 valve?  The cam gear and idler gear at the cam are ok but we can't decipher between the crank gear and idler gear.  The L is stamped in a spot where we can't tell which tooth has the mark.  With everything together, timing marks as shown, piston is not on top dead.  Appreciate any information.  Thanks Don

I take it you have the manual sect 1.7 pages 3 and 4 with a dial indicator if you can't see the L's, the crank to the idler the L's are in a upright on the cam to the idler the cam L is upside down and the idler L is upright just match the 4 L's and you are good to go  

If you can see the A on the crank gear turn the idler gear 1 tooth to the right looking from the rear that will be your L for std timing fwiw the piston is not going to be TDC when the stars are all aligned

I know they cost big bucks for your own protection after doing all the work you need to install a new harmonic balance on the engine I have saw the damper break the end of the crankshaft off using a old one after a rebuild lol BTDT it's a sicking sight plus a expensive repair.
