If you have a Kubota generator and a NAPA AITA card, you need to read this.  Our last trip out the genset was operating sporadic and on/off was the name of the game.  Not a good idea when you are wanting to be cool in the heat of the day.

I called Wrico International in Oregon and spoke to Justin about my problem.  They are good friendly folks and have consistently over the years answered my inquiries and helped me to solve my over the road issues.

We narrowed it down to three possible causes:

Water in the fuel
Air in the fuel lines
A clogged up air filter.

Started with the air filter, which turned out to be blacker than a West Virginia coal miners butt, which in itself says the thing is sucking up exhaust from outside the door.  Sure enough, it was the air filter.

Kubota's are tied to the fuel pump and the air filter, if the air filter is dirty, it will send a message to the pump and shut it down, same with the air separator, water in the line, you are screwed.  Also if the generator fails to shut down after hitting the kill button, that is a indicator you have a stuck starter switch somewhere in the coach.

As I recently changed out everything BUT the air filter, that is where I started to diagnose the problem.  Pulled it in about five minutes.

Now I trot my body down to the NAPA store, show him the filter and tell him I need two.  He comes back with them, $27.97 each and I almost faint as the blood rushes out of my brain.  Then he looks down at the NAPA Card on the counter, and says, "Why didn't you tell me you had this first?" and he rings it up again, drops the $28 item down to a little over $13 each.

I end up buying both filters for $26.00 and some change after taxes.

If you don't have this card, you should get you one, it will save you some serious money every now and then.  And in this day and age, that is a good thing for sure.

If you want the NAPA card, register on Prevost Community, log in and press the blue button on the main forum page which will take you into the AITA application.

No cost, free, and it does provide some great savings.

West Virginia coal miners butt.  Mostly Scottish and Welsh immigrants, having some relatives who did that, way back when.  Coal miner's black butt and black coal miner's butt are perhaps two different things....?  Proud, hardworking men, all of them, at this remove.

Moderate hijack here but not too much ........ Jon, you were going to check to see if NAPA stores in Canuckland would honour this discount.

Personally I avoid NAPA like the black plague but a discount would be another matter altogether.

The last time I answered five comments one at a time, I got slammed for writing "five articles" flaming people, so I will answer them all at one time, so there is no confusion.

Apparently it doesn't matter that someone might save some money because of this.  Someone might be helped with a generator problem because of this.  Someone might gather some information that before this was not available to them?  The card saved me 50% at least four times, no brag, just plain fact.

Some of you want to instead argue semantic's or PC garbage?

Google the expression, there are over 96,000 instances for the expression, which by the way I cleaned up.  I could have said "West By-God Virginia" as the local's refer to it but I didn't.

I suppose if I said, "it was colder than eight brass monkeys from the ancient sacred crypts of Egypt someone's Uncle Harvey who occasionally reads this board would be insulted."  For what it is worth, this isn't the only place I put it up, it went up elsewhere, with not so much as a whimper.

You people amaze me.  You just look for a reason to stir up ______ .

On  serious note:  Don what's the cure for your air intake recirc problem? Is it happening when your moving or just sitting still?  Do you have something in mind as a cure for it?   I sure do, but you can bet your last dollar it isn't going up here, I will email you something on it tomorrow.

Matt I haven't had anyone even question the Prevost Napa card, and I'll take money saved wherever I can get it 😀

BCO, fwiw I was and am in favor of your reference to coal miners.  I don't step back from my forefathers.   You need to grow a thicker skin, sometimes.

The Napa stores here won't accept the Prevost card they will the AITA truckers card

The main issue I have had with my NAPA card is the store folks knowing what to do with it.  Some of them look up the account number for AITA even though it is clearly written on the back of the card along with instructions for the clerk on how to use it.  One store wrote the account number on the front of my card.

Maybe I need a drink Brian, please excuse my intolerance on this subject. Sometimes when you find yourself up to your rear in alligators, it often makes you forget your original intention was to drain the swamp.

I sent you an Email.
