I think it was Clifford--about a year ago I had the name ;think it started with A  :: Anyway I lost it.  Was exactly what I wanted but could not find USA seller. Was hoping things have changed.       For  ones in dark about what I am referring to it would give the same benefits of the mini-split without the challenges of two separate units. I have bus system set. But looking into quiet plus heating Hvac unit for Andy's Toterhome. It is on borrowed time and noisy like roof tops.   I think it was Monaco using them on their high end Motor-home. Bob

Mini-splits are increasingly common here for retro-fit units in the old homes we have a lot of.  When the upgrade is from a wood stove in the parlor to a mini-split you know you don't have ducts to distribute heat and cool...  When I see them I marvel at how quiet an unobtrusive they are.  Why can't a roof-top unit be as quiet?  Is that what inverter type roof ac might be?

Ace, That unit is a 9 SEER, not very efficient. Minimum  rating for household unit now is 13 SEER and you can buy some at 20+. I know that really doesn't make a lot of difference except if you are concerned about total energy usage, such as staying places that only have 20 amp service or what ever. The higher the SEER, the less electricity it will use to produce that 11,000 BTUs of cooling. They are really nice  units though.

Tom I'd be concerned if it were in a house or cottage but using it the truck really doesn't matter since it's either being run off the generator or 50 amp rv park power!

ACE:nice compact size. and should be  quiet. I have a 2 1/2 ton and a 5 ton here at house that I don't use any more. Problem here in blaaa ohio valley they quit on the heat side at 30 and below 45 are real inefficient.  AC side are good. With  the inverter technology and 410R  refrigerant work on heat side down to single digit. Not theory but my actual 2 yr experience. The efficiency doesn't seem to drop until below 20 degree F. That unit you have should be easy fit below floor..Good Idea!  Suggestion you prob already know is to keep as much fresh air to it as you can and try not to recycle discharge air from condenser.    Note: To Bob::: keep out of freezing temp as much as possible.  Have less trouble remembering that the older I get.     I have done the ducted HVAC in a bus.. super quiet. Needed a small ceiling fan (20 inch ) from lowes to stop layering of temperatures.  as much as 10deg from top to floor.  Ran on low=just enough to move/mix air up and down.  Very interested in your project ! as you know Andy has a FL120 with a NRC box that he pulls his steam engines with. We could put mini-split on it but prefer to replace noisy on it last leg roof top with  the new technology (when available) in same place.   Bob

Ace-watch out when buying a "park" model. They are made to be mounted on a concrete pad. Coleman and others make basement A/C's that are reinforced (mainly in better support of the freon lines) to better with stand the vibration of going down the road. Especially since truck conversions don't ride as well as buses.
On my truck conversion, I converted two Penguin 15,000btu roof A/C's to work in the basement. Extremely quiet inside and outside. Good Luck, TomC

The guy whom I've dealt with in the past tells me he has sold a lot of these for rv use. Fwiw!

Why not the TrueAir residential packaged units are used in several of the major manufactures in their rv's they seem to do fine

TrueAir appears to be exclusive to Winnebago Industries.  The thermostats have the Coleman name on them so my guess this is simply the Coleman under floor heat pump.

I bet it is simply this http://rvcomfort.com/rvp/products/offroof/HP_2tonHE.php with a special name for Winnebago.  Coleman used to have a straight A/C version of this for RVs, but long discontinued.  Several folks who have been around here for some time have the A/C only version in their bus.  Ron the Bus Nut used to sell the A/C only version.  Maybe he still has one.

Here is a link to the unit that we are looking for.  http://www.aislu.com/Technical_Doc/TECH_PDF/MSD_rvairconditioner.pdf
I can find info on the unit but I can't figure out where to buy one.

I have a guy at a RV place checking on where to buy one he said the distributor has been by his place trying to set him up as a dealer

Thanks: the real 2 selling points to me would be the low decidable (48) inside level and the fact you get heat down into single #F at same capacity as airconditioner from the unit.  As we all know the RV industry is turtle pace to change.    Bob
