Another truck?

Well not really another truck but talks have further progressed on the original truck I was interested in.
After searching almost every web site, link after link, lead after lead, and phone calling almost every so called builder of these beast, AND getting their prices for just the frame stretching and bare box, the one I'm looking at isn't looking so bad!
To buy a used truck is gonna run anywhere from 10k-30k
Add another 5k to stretch the frame
Then add another (approx) 15-20k for the unfinished box.
Then panels, insulation, lights, wiring, trim, windows, hardware, and anything else not to mention the time, well you get my point, I'm sure.
I can buy this project truck for a maximum of 50k and needing only plumbing, tanks, and basement a/c and of course cosmetics and finishing off the stripped out sleeper and new updates for the cab. Even all this will still be far less than having one built from scratch.
It's nowhere near the same truck as the recent one I passed on but it is what I'm looking for and these types with a partial or drop deck garage are rare, used or even up for sale.
I've got a bus buddy willing to go to the truck and inspect it for me so I won't have to lose more time from work and that is a huge help.

Now,  the journey continues...

Ace-How're Doin? You're not to far off on those prices. I already had the '85 Kenworth 90" cabover Aerodyne as the truck I used to drive. $6k to stretch it. $15k to convert from 13spd manual to Allison HT740 (wish I had that when I was driving). $45k for the custom made 32ft box to my specs-1.5" square metal tubing with .125" walls on 16" centers. Just the box weighs 10,000lbs. Then having Apitong horizontal strips installed $1,500. Spray insulation $1,700. Lining the walls with 1/4" birch plywood (no formaldehyde). Building all cabinets. Now doing 120vac wiring with THNN stranded wire pulled through plastic water tight conduit and doing 12vdc wiring also. Next will be plumbing. Then installing the generator (custom made 12kw 3cylinder Wrico). Installing the tanks (2-98gal fresh water, 115gal gray, 69gal black, 25gal propane). Then carpeting, kitchen and bath counter tops (Silestone). Will have a 48" LED TV on the front bulkhead over the pass through to the cab for a virtual window powered by a PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) exterior camera with infra red lights for night time.
Hope to have it usable by summer of 2015. Started May 2008. Good Luck, TomC

Ace, that last truck looks good.  There are two phone numbers in the listing, give him a call.

Jack I tried but no answer each time I tried!
Trust me when I say I've checked almost every lead out there!
At the moment, an inspection is planned on one I'm interested in and I won't Persue any others until this one is a no go!

You have to study about those ads closely, some of those trucks have a bunch of hard miles on them before they were converted.
