Where to sell a bus?

Not wanting to offend anyone so I won't describe what I'm selling other than to say that it is a steel tent conversion with exterior modifications covering windows, etc.

No longer need the bus for our data  processing business and want to get rid of it.  Haven't been heavily involved in the conversion game for some years so I'm at a loss as to what is available.

Where have you been successful in advertising a bus for sale?

Thanks,

Click on the BCM Home page and follow the links to advertise your bus! First option.  Second option, advertise on Craigslist in the major towns in your region under RV.  Next, would be the e-place mostly to get the word out it is for sale with contact information. Finally, I would then look to sell the bus at a large RV dealership that allows consignments.

Good luck!

Chessie 4905, with all due respect to your being a hero member and all, perhaps it would have been more helpful to suggest a rather large forum known as Skoolie.net in place of or at least along with the scrap yard.  If I have miss understood your intent, I apologize.

With the difficulty of selling a decent bus conversion, anything less or not actually a coach and being a former data processing center, it is going to be next to impossible to get much return on investment in  at least a reasonable amount of time. To get rid of it quick would be  the recommended suggestions. Parting out the individual components could be a possibility if owner lists any items of value. Pictures would be helpful for more specific suggestions, especially since the description doesn't sound like any kind of conversion that we would think of.

Facebook, RV Classifieds might work.

The voice of reality ...  and his description implies that he put in a lot of specialized electronic equipment.  Maybe he's stripped that out already but -- like most things in the used converted bus world right now -- he's probably looking at pennies on the dollar of new cost.  Sad, but reality is reality.

yes....it's all in the presentation.
fwiw there are tin tents that have amenities equal to or far superior to some converted coaches that I  have seen.
of course we don't care if we alienate schoolie owners .... do we.
They just might be in the market for a (insert your guess here).

Thanks for all the information and suggestions, even some quick judgements.  By steel tent, I meant to imply that it wasn't top drawer.  Just an old 84 MCI 9 that we recognize has little value.  But we got it in 2001 and used it every year for an average of 6 months per year to prevent motel and restaurant meal expense.  It has handsomely paid for itself.

Didn't post pictures, description, etc., to prevent criticism for trying to sell through this board.  When I started reading this board in the 1990's it seemed to be a more helpful, accepting and cooperative membership.  See too much negativity now and didn't want to provide a reason for the spewing of any more.

Will be putting it on the market in the spring since I don't see winter as a time to sell a bus.

Thanks to those of you who helped!

TomNPat don't let a few taint your judgment of all, I would like to see what you have without any judgmental  comments as would others, Ros is this bus something that might work for you?

Yes, a bus that's not in the greatest shape is going to be hard to get much for in this market, but if it has a reliable running gear and a solid body, it may be good for someone else to use as a "shell".  Don't expect to get much for it (not because it's a bad bus - that's just the market right now) but don't think that it's of no value.   As in many transactions, "it's worth what someone else will pay you because of what they think it's worth to them"; if it's what someone else needs, you have a deal.
