So we made it back from our first trip.  Everything went well with the exception of a vibration on the right front at around 40mph.  I think it is a tire.  the only other issue was the slight remodeling I did via a telephone pole coming into our neighborhood.  Just rubbed it a bit may have messed up the rear baggage bay door but I think I can fix it.

That's not to bad , I put a small mark on the roof line of mine getting it into driveway.  A good friend has a 40' schooly that has come and gone many times without issue. I have to trim some trees and move some plants. Wheelbase and turning radius means a lot.

Hey Vern, sounds like success to me, I got the outside of my 4104 pretty much done , kind of did that first so I didn't scare the neighbors, but I am looking to take my first trip hopefully in the spring or summer 2015.
My bus runs really good and I drive it on ocassion in my local neighborhood, but it always runs in the back of my mind , what happens if this beast stops running in unfamiliar places. Its not like call a simple tow truck ,YIKES!
I guess I have to get over that worry.
How far was your first trip and was it what you expected?
Thanks, Nel

I used to get real worried about being too slow and in peoples way, Now I'm quite comfortable making people go around or figure another way through if it avoids me having to unhook the toad to reverse out of somewhere. Craig

Yes, people can wait.  Funny that I was able to get it into the campsite without too much trouble but rubbed the pole in my own neighborhood.  In my defense that pole is right on the curb on that corner and I am not the first person to rub it.

Talking about scapes on the bottom of bus, many years ago (70's-early 80's) my boss had a new Prevost every 2 years for about 5 buses total. He was the worst driver I've ever seen. Could have afforded a driver but no, drove himself and ran over everything within range. Bought a supply of body panels with new coach and usually bought a lot more before he traded it in. Had a guy that's all he did was work on bus and that was usually replacing body panels. That boy was a riveting fool.  Have fun in the bus and hopefully many carefree miles but as you know there's always something to fix. ;D

I don't like the poles that jump out in front of you but the ones that jump into the side of the bus once you've gone past them are just makin fun of ya!
