Talks are open again only not trading! I made him an offer a very low offer knowing he wouldn't take it just to see what he will take and I got this email today!
Things are still looking up!

Ace,
Obviously I would not take that offer but I know how this works and I am
not so sure we are too far apart to work this deal out. I will put some
thought into it the next couple days and throw you a counter.

Thanks, Bob

So, you're thinking of buying the truck outright rather than trading the bus for it?

Hmmm... I've been talking to Louis from NH about helping him get his bus from FL to his home. I had offered to drive down and drive it up to NH for him.
I'd like to bring the bikes and ride them home from NH but Teri is not really up or that much punishment. I have a little trailer in AL that I used to haul
them down last month when I took my friends bus to him, but I have no way to get the trailer from AL to FL, so would probably have to bring the pickup.
So... if you buy this truck and need someone to deliver it, we could probably work something out. If I remember correctly, that truck has a garage in back.
I could bring the bikes, and pick up my trailer in AL and then help Louis get his MC5 home.

Just a thought...  :)

Gumpy that could possibly work but as you see, the deal discussion is just beginning! If it were to happen, I'd like to acquire it before winter.
I've already wasted a good spring and summer waiting for this guy with excuse after excuse and many plans including time off from work etc have been broken so only time will tell.
Your plans to pick up the bus down here will most likely happen before out deal finalizes!

Ace, why are you posting private emails on the forum?  Are you disclosing to seller/buyer that you are having community forum view your transaction?

I seen your previous thread.   Sell your bus, buy a truck conversion.

The other option is to begin your personal blog.   There you can detail the nitty gritty.

Ace

It's not a private email! It's mine to do what I want and besides, NOTHINGS PRIVATE in this day and age! It's those that hide things or try to are the ones they go after!

One more reason I want away from bussing!

Well, keep the idea in mind as your deal progresses and keep me informed if it's something you might be interested in. Might
save both of us some time and money if it were to work out for each of us.

I had looked at the end of Aug to help with the MC5, but that's not looking likely as I'm having difficulties
finishing some things I have to do for some commitments I have in Sept and Oct. It's likely that earliest I will be able to so anything like that would
be middle of Oct, and while that would probably be fine going south to FL, it might pose problems going north to NH and then riding the bikes back
to MN. Hard to predict this far in advance, though.

On the other hand, it's supposed to be beautiful in the northeast at that time of year and we've done cold weather riding before.

Hope it turns out the way you want it, Ace.  Not that it really matters to your purchasing process but what level of conversion is the truck in now?  Buying something that has had a lot of the basic work done (well) sounds like a very good thing.  Good luck!

It's about 75% done minus a/c and plumbing and of course personal touches and little fixes!

If the deal means that you trade your bus, you won't be without "big wheels" for too long!  And the "personal touches" are among the most important to me.

Well out of the clear blue I received a text stating another figure! Now were only 2k apart! At least it's moving in my direction!
Might have to take time and go look it over in person!

If you go there in person the seller is probably going to lower the price by $2,000 if you are willing to walk away.  He would be silly to lose a sale over $2,000.  On the other hand, he might think you are really interested if you traveled all the way from Florida and not want to drop the price.
