Looks like you have to buy the lot. I wish someone made a model of a 4106.

I don't know the different GMC variants myself but these are described as being models of 4106s:

There are a number of expensive ($200+) model 4106s.

The ones Jeremy pictured look to me like they were made by Corgi.  The Corgi model busses were labelled by the bus line and destination so you have a lot of fun finding the make and type.  To the best of my knowledge the Corgi's are no longer produced.  Retail pricing was up to individual stores and to some extent depended on packaging features.  All the ones I have are about 8-9 inches long.  Current pricing NIB (new in box complete) depends on the phase of the moon and something volatile but usually runs from $65 to $100 US dollars.

I have seen those before and I was told they were custom built. I have seen some polymer or rubber ones that were DIY paint and finish that look similar to those above and I believe there was a poster on here several years ago selling some.

FWIW, I was born in Big Lick VA.  Also got to ride in a Orange Belt Bus years and years ago as a kid.  Also do not see any Crown Supercoach schoolies.  Kinda a West Coast high end school bus.  Used to own one, VIN 37317.  HB of CJ (old coot)

In fact it's a special type of fibreglass resin specifically for casting - I've done a lot of it myself and it's really easy and fun to make the castings, but of course making the master from which the moulds are taken in the first place is where the skill is. The moulds can be flexible (latax rubber, which you can also do yourself), or rigid. Once you have a finished casting it's extremely easy to modify it to create different versions of the vehicle or whatever the model is of - if I was to do modelling as a hobby I'd do everything in resin and forget plastic and diecast models all together

The pictures Jeremy posted are, indeed, resin models of the 4106.  They're part of Dave Derstyne's collection, and, IIRC, they are from the late Bob Redden's molds.
