1984 TMC Crusader II (MC9) Fuel Filter Help

This is the only place I have ever found good info and help on my bus and have a 1984 TMC Crusader II we have been using for our semipro football team travel the last couple of years. Last week started losing power on hills on a trip home from Kansas City. I checked the fuel filter in the rear(the one that you can see through the glass) and the fuel was over the change filter line. I replaced that one but apparently there is a spin on type that looks like an oil filter I saw in the manual and the guy at the parts place sold me one. I know this sounds stupid but I have crawled all over this bus and cannot find it. Any ideas?

My MC-9 has two spin on filters. As you stand and look at the engine fron the back one filter is on the right side and the other is on the left. I'm not sure about your setup. I know I'm not much help but wondering if your bus has been modified. The filter would be in the area of the engine not hidden elsewhere.

Ik you bus would have the same filter setup as mine, stock.   Pictures are through the passenger side engine bay door.  Filters are mounted to the engine cradle near the face of the block.  Left hand filter is the strainer, it is the first filter in the flow.   From there fuel goes to the pump and then back to the right hand main filter, then to the heads.  The black filter off to the far right is the coolant filter.

Sounds like it has been converted over the Davco system he may never find another filter on his bus

When I look through the rear side passenger door like the photo you attached, that is where the filter that is in the glass tube sits.
My bus has the 6v92 turbo with auto tranny (not that that makes a difference on filter location).

Could this be the only filter on it? What is the Davco system someone mentioned below? Thanks,

That's an aftermarket filter (DAVCO, FuelPro). Not unusual for the original filters to be removed when that one is installed, and from the photos, it looks like
yours were removed.

BTW, I hope you had a shut off valve on your fuel line to prevent air getting into the pump when you replaced that filter element. Otherwise, you might find
that the bus runs for a few minutes and then dies and won't restart.

Oh, and by the way, you might want to invest in a new oil filler cap before you get dirt, or worse, that rag you have sticking in the tube, into your engine.

I'm guessing you don't do your own maintenance. I suggest you might want to have your bus serviced by a qualified shop.
