Hey busnuts. I continue to research and learn as much as possible about bus life before pulling the trigger on a purchase. Someone mentioned to me, "is it possible to lease someone else's rig for a year to get a better idea of the lifestyle"? So I thought I'd post the question up here on the boards. Is this possible? Pro's and con's? Thanks.

I would say anything is possible, given the correct insurance and specific contract! What about a lease from one of the providers to the "Stars"?

Not really.  Leasing companies have motorhomes and bus conversions that are new or only a few years old.  They rent for many hundreds to thousands of dollars per day.

If you wish to try out the Lifestyle, it is much cheaper to buy an older conversion.

FWIW, Staley near Nasville recently had a very nice 4104 with 6V92 engine and automatic transmission (see seperate thread on shifting manual transmissions) with an asking price of $13,500 as I recall.  That'll get you about a week or less in a leased coach.

You're the second person to mention Staley to me. I might need to book a flight out to visit those guys. Thanks for the tips.

Hi Joe, there is an Eagle with bunks in LV for sale on Craigslist LV for $11K, the bunk style conversion lifestyle is dfferent, send a PM to seangie, he has specific experience you might want to know about, full timing with family. I think we are at the lowest cost point for conversions right now, there is even a $1500, yes onethousand five hundred, 1950 Crown I think, already converted, also on craigslist LV, for you to experiment with, lvmci...
