For those who have smartphones and iphones the tapatalk app is now free.  This is the easiest way for me to upload pictures into this forum.  TapaTalk will host the pictures on their website so you don't have to worry about resizing.  The app automatically does that for you.

Posting questions along with pictures from a single device is the easiest way to ask questions about your project especially when you can do it right from your phone.

Just sharing useful information.

That's great, however I don't like that tapatalk ad at the bottom of everyones post that uses it. Does the forum owner get any money for the ad?

I am not sure about how it works with TapaTalk, but maybe the line can be edited.  I know that messages sent from smart phones often have a similar line at the end like, "sent from my Iphone", but those signature lines can be edited or deleted.

I just d/l'd Tapatalk - free is my kind of pricing.   You can easily edit the signature line.  At least I think you can.  Check my signature on this post to confirm that.

Chessie - That's not really an ad just a default signature that can be easily edited out.  You can see my signature has been updated.  It's a simple app to use.  Again - makes posting pics a breeze....

Dave - it's been free since this past December I think.   It may have been free before but I think you may have had to pay to post more than 20 or 30 pics or something like that....  I know I paid for it when I first got it and then paid extra for unlimited pics and then of course 6 months later it's a free app.

Should we get the Tapatalk Pro for IPhone or just the basic if we want to store photos?

Lin

Okay, I just downloaded it.  If you go to Settings, there is an option for your signature. You can customize it or just check none.  There should be none on this post.

@Eagle - TapaTalk pro is laid out for tablet use.  I think under tapatalk support they stated there is no difference between the 2 versions unless you want it to look better on your tablet device.

Sean I cannot find anything in the settings where I can store photos in Tapatalk.  I have went into the IPhone and Tapatalk settings and there is nothing there.  You have to remember I am a dumb a** old country boy>

Thanks:

Seangie

Eagle - Tapatalk doesn't necessarily "store" photos....rather "hosts" them.  You wouldn't use it like say photobucket.  But you can post a reply with tapatalk, press the "menu" button (on an Android device...might be different for iphone) and choose attach picture and upload a photo from your phone.  TapaTalk uploads  a copy of the photo to their server and posts the image as a photo link in your post.

The best use of it is if you are on your back on the creeper and you find the air leak up under the rear axle while greasing zirks, instead of going to find the camera and then running to the computer to log into bus conversions and upload your pic from the camera and resize it...blah blah blah....you just grab your phone, post in tapatalk and take a pic to attach to the post and viola...you can keep greasing zirks while waiting for someone to reply about what part is leaking air all while still on your back on the creeper.

Hope this helps/makes sense.

I don't know about you guys, but when I am under the bus greasing zerks, I have grease all over my hands, the rag is full of grease, there is grease dripping on the floor, also on my face, the grease gun is slippery with grease, so I don't think I would grab my phone without first crawling out to wipe my hands, LOL. Otherwise good idea.

When I read something like this, I want to retire my old cell phone with the rotary dial and get a "smart phone".  Nahhh ...
