Bryan, sorry 'bout hijacking your thread.

If anyone is interested in starting a Georgia Bus Nuts club.  We need to have a gathering somewhere in Georgia.  I suggest a Georgia based club/group because there a several people who live near me in Georgia.  Seems it would be pretty easy to have a gathering and not have to drive several hundred miles and spend several hundred dollars just for travel.

Let's not start something with too many rules and endless meetings.  Call it a Mailing List and if someone wants to have a gathering, send people on the list a invitation and tell'em were we will gather.  The guys in Florida have something like this.  Maybe someone from Florida will post a suggestion on how they do it.   Let's have it open to anyone from anywhere.

OK, let the discussion begin.   Who will be the first to host a gathering?

Hello John, I hope y'all are doing well.  John that sounds like a good idea and a lot of fun without hours of driving to get there. Will we be using campgrounds or home based facilities?

I am a Georgia bus nut but the bus isn't at the stage it can be used yet. Still collecting parts and gutting for the transformation.  Babell2 the other Brice.

Hi John! This sounds like a great idea.  I would be willing to help someone organize a gathering in the Augusta area.

Count me in guys!  This would be really fun!  It's great to find some local folks with buses.  I was beginning to think I was the only one crazy enough to have one sitting in the back yard!

John has a good idea.  We could develop an email list of interested people, jointly agree on a location and date, and have a casual meet up somewhere convenient to everyone.  I don't know if any of us actually have the space to do a home based meetup.  I do not, as I live in town.  But there are some great campgrounds in my area (Core of engineer parks).  Due to the time of year it is, it might be good to pick a campground where we can have hookups, as my heat is electric.  I'm fine with Augusta or wherever the group wants to go.

If no one else wants to do it, I'll volunteer to collect the emails and start the list.  If that is okay with everyone, just click on the email icon beneath the photo of my bus, or send me a pm.  Include the email address you want to use, along with at least your first name.  I'll send out a joint email to all interested parties so everyone has the email addresses.  Then we can introduce ourselves to the group and maybe tell each other about our bus and anything else you want to share.

OK, looks like we have some interest.  Timing may be bad for a gathering in the next couple of months, so we have longer to plan, lets not lose the enthuisam.  Darryl, thank you, I certainly have no problem with you creating the list.  Everyone send Darryl your email.  We can also post here when we have a gathering.

We don't care if you live in Georgia or not you can be on "The List".
We don't care if you drive a mule and wagon and sleep in a tent you can be on "The List".

I will host a gathering sometime before May 1st.  Maybe middle of March the weather will be a little better.  I can accommodate about 6-8 buses and if it gets more than that the Georgia Fish Hatchery is near-by.

Feel free to start planning now for YOUR gathering.

(Where is the spell checker?  Excuse my misspellings)

Mid March sounds good to me too.  January and February are usually so cold that outside events are hard to enjoy.  Don't forget about the FMCA rally in March.  I thinks it's March 17th through the 20th.  I hope to attend that one.  Others may too, so I suggest that we don't step on those dates.
