6V92 Detroit Questions, DDEC verses Mechanical

I need to talk to someone about 6V92 Detroits,  Can you use a DDEC engine with
mechanical heads without changing out cams?

I can think of two folks who can give you an answer.  The first is Don Fairchild who sometimes monitors this board.  The second is Geoff Smith who got frustrated with the boards and no longer is involved as far as I know. 

If you don't get a response, give me a call and I can get their numbers for you.

Time to let the CAT outta the bag! LOL! Seriously, you have asked a question I've offten wondered but never asked ! So now that you got an answer, those of us dying to know are waiting!

I just bought another Eagle, the engine was out of it with the heads off
and I was doing some research.  I found out that the engine came out
of a truck and it was originally a DDEC.  That is what I was trying to find
out if the cams would work with the mechanical injectors.  Don Fairchild
was very helpful and said no they would not work.  So now I have to find
the cams out of a mechanical engine before I can put it back together.
