I have called several companies, and as soon as I describe what I have, they will not cover it. I have seen people say "just tell them it's a motorhome" that's great on paper, but when there's an accident, then I'm screwed. Please help! I am picking up my bus tomorrow, and don't want to drive it home without coverage.

Have no idea what you are trying to insure; shell or conversion, school bus or coach. Alexander and Alexander or GMAC do motorhomes in FMCA. Mine is through my personal Ins co. Nationwide, although it is now on a separate rv policy through them, which is apparantly another division. Scooters the same way. One thing, don't try to do collision coverage, at least for now.

All you can get here is probably liability. Unlessnyou take it in so they can see it and then rate will be hugh to cover it fully. AAA covers them.

Your existing auto coverage should cover you for the trip call your agent if not covered your agent can put a binder on it for the trip as my agent always tells me you are the insured not the vehicle

We have State Farm.  They will cover it if they have all your insurance.  Full coverage is very reasonable if titled as RV.  If it's still a bus,  then it's really expensive.

Progressive is ok for liability we have full coverage on the RV through Progressive I am a little pissed with them right now
I broke both windshield on the last trip and the trailer broke the fiberglass on the rv on 1 corner and the jerks want to treat the windshields as a separate claim and each windshield cost 750 bucks

They want me to pay 500 bucks deductible on ea windshield 1000 bucks then they will pay 500.00 I am looking for another carrier for sure

OT but my friend Jim who's Eagle caught fire 2 years ago had a agreed value with Progressive for years his was $130,000 after 2 years they finally paid him $58,000 of the agreed value he is a little pissed also at Progressive

I have progressive, never had a claim but with the weasel words I was noticing in their contract including "actual cash value" I assume that if I ever have a collision or comprehensive claim with them that it might be a problem.  I'm not aware of a better option though.

I did go with Progressive, their underwriters are IDIOTS!!! I called and spoke to them and they said they couldn't cover it, then while searching their site, I found that they actually do cover my bus. I'll have them at least this year, but we'll see what happens from there. I also got the free windshield coverage too... Hopefully they honor the contract

Had a friends fifthwheel short out and burn up.  Progressive last I heard was still investigating claim. Almost 2 years ago. Smoked his pickup pretty bad also. If it's paid off thats when they drag there feet. His lawyer told him to take what they offered on settlement.  Pennies on the dollar.

Eagle

First off everyone must stop calling them a Bus if it is registered as an RV then it is an RV not a Bus.  If you don't like the term RV then call it a Coach BUT stop using the term BUS.  My conversion burnt two years ago sitting here in the drive and National Interstate Insurance Company had no problem paying me the agreed value that I had with them.  It was an Eagle Conversion that I did and had it registered as an RV.

Thanks Eagle, I'll look into them. The last thing anybody wants is to have to fight their insurance company after a loss like that. It's like adding insult to injury!

We all get educated, one of my educations was from Progressive, took two years to catch on, they had my Montana LLC ATV and 2004 Ford F150, did not to the coach, but they doubled the rate every year, the pickup started off at $350 a year, in two years it went lil over $1,250, the ATV / Quadricycle started at $115, went to $350, I surenderded/gave up, went with GEICO, all other vehicle insurance it with our business package.
